The Locomotives:

The steam locomotives, called "Moritz" and "Lisa", which both date from 1925, continue to do good and reliable service, especially at weekends and on public holidays. There are also two battery-electric locomotives built in 1962 and 1982. The maximum speed is nominally 30 km/h (19 mph), but never more than 20 km/h (12 mph) in actual operation.

Parkolino, the mascot of the Railway

The Dresden Park Railway was able to welcome its new mascot on 12th July 1998: A squirrel with a blue railwayman´s cap, conductors´s sash, signalling disc and a whistle. The children of local kindergartens and schools had sent in thier suggestions for the name.

"Dresdner Parkeisenbahn e.V.":

The association supports the children and young people who work as volunteers on the Park Railway. It organises leisure activities such as excursions, walks and sports competitions. The association realises advertising measures to promote the Dresden Park Railway and to attract new young volunteers.
